What Does Uninsured Motorist Coverage Pay For?

Uninsured Motorist Coverage Explained

I have been selling car insurance in the Metro Tulsa area for more than 30 years now, and every week I talk to people who contact me for a quote that misunderstand who Uninsured Motorists coverage does.

The most common mistake is that people think that it will cover their own vehicle if the person that hits them is at fault and does not have insurance, but that is incorrect! In Oklahoma, Uninsured Motorists coverage only pays for your bodily injury damages (medical bills, lost wages etc. up to the limits you purchase) NOT your vehicle.

If you want to be sure your vehicle will be repaired you need to have collision coverage on your auto insurance policy.
